About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

"Elevated themselves into those elite ranks alongside Yarn/Wire, Sō Percussion, Tigue, Iktus and Ensemble Et Al", as described by the New York Music Daily, Pathos Trio (percussionists Marcelina Suchocka, Felix Reyes, and pianist/composer Will Healy) is a two percussion and piano trio committed to combining aesthetics of contemporary classical music with their interests in dark, heavy, dense sounds drawn from various genres of music such as alternative rock, progressive/black metal, cathedral music, minimalist music, electronic synth-wave, and more, while also aiming to bring adventurous music to audiences through collaborations with young, living new music composers.

Their accolades include being Semi Finalists for Concert Artist Guild's 2022 Victor Elmaleh Virtual Competition, 2021 & 2022 Ensemble Forward Grantees from Chamber Music America, and receiving support from various national music organizations such as New Music USA, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Johnstone Fund for New Music, Amphion Foundation, Alice Ditson Fund, and New York State Council for the Arts, amongst others.

As they near the end of their 2023-2024 Season celebraiting their 5th Year Anniversary, Pathos Trio would like to take the time to invite close friends, family, supporters/community, and those who love chamber/new music to their Lincoln Center Debut Concert they're having on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at 7:30pm ET.

Doors open at 7pm and we'll be performing in the Stanley Kaplan Penthouse, which is located on the 10th Floor in the Samuel B. & David Rose Building at 165 West 65th Street, New York, NY 10023.

For this concert they'll be presenting new commissions for two percussionists, piano, and electronics from their sophomore album Polarity, along with world premieres by Jlin Patton, Ivanna Cuesta, Scott Li, Will Healy, and more. Each work featured on this program combines aesthetics of chamber/new music with elements of other genres of music, such as electronic music, synthwave, and alternative rock.

They’ll also have guest appearances by some of their collaborators/composers they’ve commissioned such as Clara Warnaar, Scott Li, and Ivanna Cuesta join them on stage, and so it’ll sure to be a jam packed event!

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased on their website through their events page and through the Eventbrite page here.

This concert is made possible in part by their sponsors Pearl Drums/Adams Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, and Vic Firth sticks and mallets.
