Join us as we welcome Timothy Stoddard, a classical vocalist and author, shares excerpts from his first novel, Bluestone Folklore, in addition to performing classical vocals. Accompanying Mr. Stoddard on the harp is Alyssa Hensley. You can look forward to hearing pieces from Ravel, Debussy, Schubert, and more.

About Timothy Stoddard:

Mr. Stoddard has been hailed by Opera News as having a “clear-voiced tenor.” He has sung the roles of Actor 7 in ALL IS CALM with Opera Idaho+Boise Contemporary Theater, Izzy Wright in Sankaram’s MI-RANDA with Tri Cities Opera+Opera Omaha, Liberto/Lucano in Monteverdi’s POPPEA with Bare Opera, Milord Fideling in the American premiere of Salieri’s La cifra with dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, Tamino/1st Armored Man/Second Priest in The Magic Flute with both Opera in Williamsburg and the Muses Crea-tive Artistry Project, and Song Seller/Gherardo in Puccini’s Il trittico with Utah Festival of Opera. He’s premiered roles with Experiments in Opera, Rhymes with Opera, Gramercy Opera, and SoBe Arts. As concertist, he appeared with the Pittsburgh Camerata, Chatham Baroque, Utah Festival of Opera and Musical Theater, Det Norske Solistkor, the Choral Society of Grace Church, the Norwegian Radio Orches-tra and Lucerne Festival. His singing has been featured on radio programs with NYC’s WQXR and Pitts-burgh’s WQED. Community engagement projects include those with The Metropolitan Opera and The Metropolitan Opera Guild. He was tenor-in-residence with the American Opera Project’s Composers and the Voice fellowship. Award highlights include those of the Heinz Endowments Creative Development Award, Pittsburgh Concert Society, the Anna Sosenko Assist Trust, the American Scandinavian Society, and the Arleen Auger Foundation. Both his debut album TAROT (Navona Records) and his debut novel BLUESTONE FOLKLORE (Cobblestone Publishing Group) were released in 2023.

About Alyssa Hensley:

Harpist Alyssa Hensley is a professional musician, teacher, and arts administrator in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ms. Hensley started music lessons at the age of seven with
piano, harp, percussion, and anything else she could get her hands on.
A Chicago native, Ms. Hensley holds a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance from
Northwestern University, and her Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University, where
she studied with Gretchen Van Hoesen. She has played with ensembles such as the
Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Nat28, Chicago Composers Orchestra, Northshore Concert
Band, West Virginia Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh, Trio Cassatt, and Wires
and Reeds.
Ms. Hensley is an advocate for new music and serves on the board of directors for the
Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Harp Society.
