A Mindful Moment, Session Two

Center for Domestic Peace (C4DP) leads a comprehensive community effort to end the #1 violent crime in Marin County: domestic violence. We provide transformational services and programs that protect and enhance victim safety, and ultimately engage our community in permanent change.C4DP holds the vision of a world in which domestic violence, abuse, and intimidation is replaced with domestic peace.  We believe that all women, youth, children, and men who are abused and at risk of abuse have a right to immediate and long-term safety.  We strive to create greater safety, justice, and equality for all by building awareness and action toward changing the social norms that promote or enforce violence against women.  We seek to make domestic violence a major community concern among all residents and social institutions (schools, hospitals, police departments, etc.).  We believe that change results from the action-oriented participation of large numbers of people, organizations, and institutions, inclusive of survivors.  We see intergenerational leadership as essential in our multigenerational task of ending domestic violence and violence against women and girls.

<h3>Building a Collective Consciousness about Domestic Peace</h3>On the same day, at the same time, and with the same intentionOctober is Domestic Violence Awareness Month - so we invite you to join Center for Domestic Peace and yoga studios and teachers around Marin County for a simultaneous yoga session, in universal support of survivors during this pandemic. Show your solidarity and intention for peaceful relationships and Ahimsa (non-violence) by participating in this session. C4DP will offer this free online sessions, along with many yoga studios and individual yoga teachers in Marin County. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As you know, interconnectedness and intention are some of the most powerful lessons yoga reminds us of. When breath and asana are in union, we are in divine flow, and we can see the possibility for growth as individuals and community in the midst of challenges, adversity, and fear. Setting intention in our practice translates into purpose and action in our everyday lives.So join us in practice and action this October as we connect yoga to activism. Did you know domestic violence is the most frequent violent crime in Marin and that sheltering at home has been extremely difficult for survivors of domestic violence? Your instructor:Hannah Franco has been teaching yoga for 12 years and practicing for 17. Her passion for the practice is part of what lead her to co-found époque évolution a sustainable functional fashion brand focused on creating clothing for your real life. She was certified in India with the Himalayan Yoga Institute in 2008 and she has been practicing since 2003. Her classes are a blend of Hatha yoga and energizing Vinyasa, and are suitable for all levels with an emphasis on creativity, steadiness and presence and a joyful celebration of life! Her focus as a teacher is to bring community together, and foster a sence of compassion and love for all our unique spirits.
