Friends of the Carver Library created this event to showcase the accomplishments of African American authors and increase literacy in our community. It is imperative that people, especially children have access to reading material they can identify and feel familiar with.
Purpose:
- To promote literacy in our community
- To acknowledge and celebrate African American authors
- To encourage the reading and support of Black literature.
- To highlight the programs of the Carver Library and raise funds for the Carver Library
- To promote the work and gain support for the Carver Friends
