Blueprints for Belonging: Education, Jobs & the Journey Ahead

Overview

Blueprints for Belonging: Education, Jobs & the Journey Ahead is a chance for neighbors, schools, PTOs, church groups, and local leaders to come together and explore how job access shapes the well-being and future of our neighborhoods. This conversation will highlight the power of collaboration—how schools, families, faith communities, and local government can partner with workforce programs to create real opportunities. Together, we’ll examine barriers like transportation, childcare, and access to training, and identify grassroots solutions that support inclusive, community-driven economic growth.

Why This Matters

In a recent survey, respondents from District 1 shared key concerns about jobs, education, and financial stability. Many reported limited access to employment opportunities (44.44%), dissatisfaction with local educational options (36.11%), and frequent worries about affording basic needs—over half expressed concerns about paying for essentials like food, electricity, and rent. These findings highlight the need for stronger employment pathways, improved learning opportunities, and greater economic support within the community.

What to Expect:
Expert Insights – Hear from local leaders, educators, and workforce development professionals about job access, educational programs, and economic initiatives.
Community Conversations – Join small group discussions to share lived experiences, identify barriers to employment and education, and explore community-driven solutions.
Resource Fair – Connect with schools, training programs, government agencies, and nonprofits offering support with job placement, skill-building, and basic needs assistance.
Action Planning – Collaborate on strategies to improve access to opportunity, strengthen local partnerships, and build a more economically resilient and connected community.
