Hopkins</h3><h3>Music Direction by Kristin Stowell</h3><h3>Nine Tony Awards, the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Best Play– <em>A CHORUS LINE</em> is the “one singular sensation.” The Programs of Music and Theatre &amp; Dance collaborate  in this story of a demanding director auditioning dancers featuring numbers as “I Hope I Get It, “ “I Can Do That,” “What I Did for Love,” and “Dance: Ten; Looks: Three”</h3>

<h3>M﻿EET THE DIRECTOR</h3><p><strong>Jennifer J. Hopkins </strong>is a performer, director, and choreographer. She has been a member of the GW community for three years and most recently choreographed the Spring 2022 production of Cabaret. She is also the founder of JHOP Virtual Dance &amp; Fitness and a founding faculty member of Berridge Conservatory in Normandy, France.</p>

<h3>M﻿EET THE MUSIC DIRECTOR</h3><p><strong>Kristin Stowell </strong>is a music director, pianist, composer, music copyist and educator currently based in Washington, D.C. Throughout her diverse music career, Kristin has been involved in the development and production of dozens of musical theatre productions in a variety of roles. She holds a master's degree in collaborative piano performance from NYU Steinhardt and a bachelor's degree in music from the Ohio State University.</p><p>As a music director, Kristin Stowell has conducted several shows from South Pacific to Hairspray and was the first female music director for the musical Rock of Ages. Recently, she was the music director and orchestrator for the world premiere of Dance Divas Nutcracker and was the music director for the new musical Matthew McConaughey Vs. the Devil, featured in the New York Musical Festival (NYMF). She served as the assistant music director and music copyist for Off-Broadway’s Songbird, with music and lyrics by Lauren Pritchard. Working as a music supervisor for Norwegian Cruise Line, she has worked with several casts and bands on ships around the world.</p><p>Ms. Stowell has held faculty positions teaching courses in musical theatre and music at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, University of Mississippi and New York University. Specializing in musical theatre accompanying and coaching, she has worked as a pianist and coach at New York University, Rider University, Molloy College, CAP21, The Ohio State University and the Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts. She is frequently seen behind the piano at musical theatre auditions around NYC. In addition to musical theatre, she is also a classical pianist performing with both vocalists and instrumentalists with a special interest in performing works written by living women composers.</p>

<p><strong>The  Corcoran Program of Theatre and Dance</strong>,  an interdisciplinary liberal arts program, offers instruction in how to acquire the tools and knowledge to fully appreciate the value of these performance art forms. Students strengthen their ability to apply critical thinking and discussion to the creation and understanding of theatre and dance, as well as the understanding of other peoples and cultures. The curriculum is supplemented as students create live performances and original productions that stimulate and involve the university community, as well as the community beyond the campus. Through creative endeavor and scholarly research, the program also develops the interests and talents of students seeking careers or advanced study in theatre and dance</p>
