About this event

  • Event lasts 6 hours 30 minutes

A Bolder Way Forward’s (BWF) 3rd Annual Summit is a celebration of the progress made in the second year (of seven), an opportunity to learn more about the movement, and a place to become more engaged and inspired about this critical work!

The statewide movement focuses on making Utah a place where more girls and women can thrive in any setting. Launched in June 2023, a BWF focuses on creating societal change in Utah. A BWF is framed around systems thinking, which is that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” In Utah, we have been working on related efforts for too long using the “parts” strategy; BWF organizes a shift that moves us together as a system. Over the past two years, 18 areas of focus (spokes) have been organized and established along with 12 additional impact teams to assist with issues that permeate across and influence each area of focus. BWF coalitions have also been established in each of Utah’s 29 counties. Thousands of people have come onboard to engage!

This event provides an update on the momentum that a BWF has created since June 2023. Breakout Session #1 designates time for leaders of the 18 spoke areas to meet with their respective members. Areas include childcare/pre-K programs, child sexual abuse, domestic violence, entrepreneurship, finances, gender pay gap, health across the lifespan, higher education attainment, home and family, K-12 initiatives, leadership development, organizational strategies and workplace culture, political and civic engagement, poverty and homelessness, sexual assault, sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination, STEM fields, and workforce development. Then, breakout session #2 will provide an opportunity to learn more about your county coalition, receive updates, and learn how you can get involved and contribute in your county. Impact teams and other parts of the movement will have tables that you can sit at to learn more. It will be an engaging, lively, and informative day for all!
