The Center at West Park is a home for arts, culture, and community in the landmark West Park Presbyterian Church on the Upper West Side in Manhattan. The Center is a secular not-for-profit organization that offers a diverse range of programs for artists, audiences, and the neighborhood; manages the building’s venues; and stewards the restoration of its historic exterior.

The Evolution Festival 2024

The Nadanam Collective proudly presents രചന 'Rachana,' a traditional Indian dance production celebrating the rich cultural heritage and vibrant rhythms of Kerala, India. Through the classical art form of Bharatanatyam, 'Rachana' honors the diverse musical compositions and ancestral traditions of our homeland, connecting past and present through graceful movement and expressive storytelling. In this evocative production, Jeeno Joseph delves into Kerala’s traditional art forms, infusing Bharatanatyam with elements from Thiruvathira, Mohiniyattam, Margam Kali, and Kathakali. Additionally, 'Rachana' draws inspiration from the iconic Kasavu and white textiles traditionally worn in Kerala. The use of these elegant fabrics not only enhances the visual aesthetic of the performance but also connects the dancers to the cultural and historical roots of Kerala. The Kasavu, with its distinctive gold-bordered white fabric, symbolizes purity and tradition, and its drape and movement on stage reflect the grace and continuity of Kerala’s artistic heritage.
