A Deeper Dive into Death: caring for the dying (2020)

Jill Schock is a Los Angeles native with a decade of experience in end-of-life care. She empowers her clients to step away from the negative stigma of death and embrace choice and style as end-of-life approaches. As a death doula, Jill serves as a guide and advocate for patients and their families facing end-of-life. Jill received a Master’s Degree in Ethics and Theology from Vanderbilt University and was trained and certified as a Clinical Chaplain, or Spiritual Counselor.

For individuals interested in learning the ins and outs of death care on a professional or personal level, “A Deeper Dive into Death” workshop offers a hands-on, experience based teaching on the end-of-life journey, diagnosis through disposition.  Join Death Doula L.A., Jill Schock, and other experienced professionals at the tranquil and healing grounds of the Sierra Hot Springs in Sierraville, California June 26 - 28, 2020.

Programming begins at 4pm on Friday, June 26th with scheduled events until approximately 2pm on Sunday June 28th. Sessions will be rotated between the Globe Hotel and public spaces within the Sierra Hotsprings Resort.

 What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
You are responsible for your transportation to and from the event.  If you are staying at the Historic Globe Hotel there is a parking lot available behind the building.  If you are camping, you can park your car at your camping spot.  Reno, NV is the nearest airport; please contact megan@805funerals.com to coordinate transportation from Reno to Sierraville. What are the lodging options?
At the Globe Hotel, which serves as the home base for the training, there are 10 rooms, each with 1 Queen bed, and shared bathrooms. The cost for lodging at the hotel is $300 for 2 nights and is included in the price of the $1095 ticket.  
Camping access is available on-site at the Sierra Hotsprings Resort. This is included in the base cost of your ticket; you will need to provide your own camping gear, though all meals will be provided for you.

What's the refund policy?
Because this is a small event with limited seating, we are not able to offer any refunds. Please email megan@805funerals.com ASAP if accommodations are needed.
 
Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?
As a rule, tickets are not transferable but we understand that life happens and may be able to work with you to make arrangments. Please email megan@805funerals.com ASAP if accommodations are needed.
 
Is clothing optional?
Clothing is required for all classroom and learning activities, but is optional throughout the hot springs area. Nudity is common (and natural!) on-site and we encourage participants to do what they feel most comfortable with. This event values personal sanctuary and respect for the human body.  
 
Are there any discounts?
Two partially-funded scholarships will be announced in April 2020 and a formal application process will be made available. Payment plan options are available, if needed.

<H2> Important Note:</H2>
This event will be capped at 30 participants, maximum. In order to facilitate a positive, safe learning environment, we will not be able to expand participation at this time. We are not able to hold or reserve tickets without a signed purchase agreement and downpayment. There are currently no scheduled plans for a 3rd retreat.
