Building Communities through Entrepreneurship.We teach a fifteen-week business course designed to help urban entrepreneurs from underserved areas build or expand their dream businesses, giving them the tools to help them grow with their neighborhoods.Essentially, we're teaching people "how to fish". We believe that entrepreneurship can change lives. When people have ownership in an area, they also have pride. This pride then manifests itself in the way that the residents become involved in their neighborhoods; no longer feeling like spectators watching life happen from the cheap seats – but instead taking the field, making plays as productive members of society.

We're back with MORTAR Homecoming Volume 3! Join us on Saturday, October 12th for our Third Annual Block Party to celebrate MORTAR's 10-year anniversary.The MORTAR Homecoming event is for the community. It is a mashup of an old-school block party, a pop-up shop, and a tailgating experience!
