ArtTism was founded with a deep-rooted passion to address a critical gap in the Black community. Inspired by a family member who discovered her love for drawing animated cartoons only after being diagnosed with autism at 13, ArtTism recognizes that many children in our community face similar delays in diagnosis and support. Often, parents are not equipped with the necessary tools or resources to advocate for their children effectively.At ArtTism, we view autism not as a disability but as a unique way of experiencing the world. We believe that art is a powerful bridge that connects and enriches the spectrum. Our mission is to provide essential resources and workshops for both children and parents, creating a supportive network within the Black community. We strive to raise awareness about autism, celebrating the strengths and talents of autistic individuals, and ensuring that no one is left behind.As a non-profit organization, we are committed to organizing annual celebrations to raise funds and foster community engagement. We collaborate with educators and professionals to address gaps in support and provide the necessary tools for families.
