With the launch of Glendalough’s Forage &amp; Fizz summer workshops, explore the world of craft spirits by learning how we identify suitable plants, harvest botanicals, and experiment with flavors. Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin is crafted in a distillery with fresh, wild botanicals from the bountiful valley of Glendalough in County Wicklow that are hand-picked daily by Ireland’s only full-time forager, Geraldine Kavanagh. Hosted by Adira Hanna, Brand Ambassador for Glendalough, and Dave Odd of Odd Produce/Eat the Neighborhood, these hands-on workshops will offer participants the chance to discover wild botanicals and learn about their uses. Attendees will gain a deeper appreciation for the foraging process that helps define Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin while enjoying a creative and immersive experience. During the “Forage &amp; Fizz” workshop, attendees will blend urban exploration with the search for unique botanical flavors in local city parks and gardens. Chicago offers a diverse landscape where foragers can discover a variety of botanicals, herbs, fruits, and florals that enhance the flavor profiles of gin. Learn how to seek out and identify ingredients such as juniper berries, elderflower, citrus peels, and various herbs such as mint, lavender, or chamomile. This sensory journey of infusion, creativity, and immersion invites participants to connect with the city’s community, while truly appreciating the craftsmanship that goes into creating Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin.
