OCD NH's Fall Session of SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) from September 11th-October 23rd

SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a parent-based treatment program for children and teens with anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, OCD Specialist, and OCDNH Executive Board Member, Jeanette Nogales (M.Ed., C.A.G.S) will lead and facilitate the program.SPACE was developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center, and has been tested and found to be efficacious in randomized controlled clinical trials. The treatment focuses on changes that parents can make to their own behavior rather than making their child change. The two main changes that parents learn to make in SPACE treatment are to respond more supportively to their anxious child and to reduce the accommodations they have been making to the child's symptoms.Some of the main anxiety issues treated with SPACE include: separation anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, fears and phobias, panic disorder, agoraphobia, selective mutism, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.This is small group parent training and will take place over 6 sessions on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15PM:September 11thSeptember 18thSeptember 25thOctober 2ndOctober 9thOctober 23rdSessions will be recorded and made available to participants.We are offering the program at a suggested donation of $25 per-session ($150 for six sessions). Our goal is to make this program accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation, and we trust that you will contribute according to your means and budget; an honor system where your donation is based on what feels right for you and your family.Questions?
