Learn about the  importance of recycling rainwater and how the DGC Sprouts are making a difference in our community!

St John Lutheran Church

We have activities planned to give your family an overview of the reasons why we strive to recycle rain.We'll explore the learning garden rain barrels and how they operate. We will learn about the water cycle while we create a water cycle bracelet. We'll discuss how we can help the environment by keeping storm run off on our own properties.We will explore the adjacent rain garden, DGC St. John Butterfly Garden. We'll discuss water loving plants, bushes and trees that are ideal for wet areas and encourage you to start your own rain garden at home.After the education we'll have a Splash Party! Let's get the last of summer out of our systems with friendly water gun activities and games. Bring your favorite water spray gun and come prepared to get WET! Of course, we will aim for the gardens and not each other!NOTES:All are welcome to attend.Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.Please register for one ticket/family.We will meet in the Sprouts Learning Garden weather permitting.
