Steven L. Barfuss is a Research Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, and an associate director at the Utah Water Research Laboratory (UWRL).  Steve has over 37 years of research experience at the UWRL studying the flow of water through municipal and agricultural water systems and helping to solve difficult hydraulic problems. Over the years, along with the help of dozens of his undergraduate and graduate research students, he has performed many successful research projects studying pipe hydrostatic pressure limits, pipe hydraulic roughness, the hydraulics of pipelines (including; flow measurement, velocity profiles, pressure transients and cavitation problems) as well as pipe failure analyses. He has authored over 1000 research reports and more than 50 peer-reviewed technical journal articles while employed at the Utah Water Research Laboratory.

Doug Seargeant began working in the municipal engineering field in 1978.  After working as a Professional Engineer for 10 years in the consulting engineering industry, Doug joined EPCOR Water Services, the City-owned water utility in Edmonton, Alberta.  For the next 31 years, he provided leadership in the water distribution group in the design, construction and maintenance of water pipes.  It was during this time that he also undertook testing of various pipe materials, including PVC pipe.

Alejandro Ospina is a Graduate Engineer for the PVC Pipe Association and covers the North Central Region of the U.S. and Canada.  He has a dual B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and Agricultural Engineering with over 15 years of experience in various engineering capacities in the design and construction of underground infrastructure and spent nine years as a Technical Sales Engineer for municipal solutions with ALIAXIS in Colombia. He is fluent in English and Spanish and serves as a Specialist in the U.S. Army Reserve.
