About The Startup Series: COVID Edition The Startup Series: COVID Edition, is a program of the Downtown San Diego Partnership’s Collaboratory for Downtown Innovation--powered by Startup San Diego and Mission Edge. This digital workshop (second of five) is designed for entrepreneurs, early-stage business owners, and founders who have recently launched or are thinking of launching a startup company.Embracing Resiliency and Finding OpportunitiesWhether you are in the early stages of honing your idea or you already have paying customers, there is no doubt that COVID-19 affects your business. So how can you embrace resiliency and find new opportunities amidst the crisis? What will I learn?In this session we will learn how to go back to the "why," and how to apply that in dire circumstances. We will also revisit the Lean Canvas as an ever-evolving tool to keep your business organized and on target.

Featured Speakers:<a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/kgdavenport/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Ken Davenport</a> | CEO, <a href="https://www.missionedge.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mission Edge</a>Ken Davenport is the CEO of Mission Edge, a social enterprise providing consulting and strategy services to nonprofits and social impact organizations. Prior to starting Mission Edge, Ken was a serial entrepreneur who started and ran a number of successful companies. He was the co-founder and CEO at NOVUS Technologies, a co-founder of the dental anesthesia developer Onpharma, and a co-founder of My Medical Forum, a platform for genomics-based testing of ovarian cancer. Ken is passionate about veteran entrepreneurship and teaches the Boots to Business courses for the Institute of Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University, and is an associate instructor for the veteran transition program FourBlock. Ken is a seed investor and mentor to numerous start-ups, and is a past board member and current partner at San Diego Social Venture Partners. Ken has a BA in Political Science from UC San Diego, a Master’s in International Management from the School of Global Policy and Strategy (UCSD) and a Master's in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
