Join Noah Martin of FM-31 for an afternoon of DIY bookbinding and complimentary mimosas at The Yards in Washington DC!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: Have you ever wanted to learn how to make your own writer’s journal? Then this class is for you! During this workshop, you will get the chance to learn the process of Japanese poke binding by creating a soft cover writer’s journal from start to finish. No prior knowledge needed, just bring yourself, and a love for all things paper!
WHAT YOU'LL GET: Each participant will receive a DIY bookbinding kit to continue the bookbinding at home! The kit includes:
<ul><li>1 awl
</li></ul><ul><li>Templates for poke binding
</li></ul><ul><li>Enough paper to make two more books.
</li></ul>And oh yea… did we mention complimentary mimosas? Take a break from the standard brunch and join us for your first bookbinding experience!

WHAT IS FM-31? FM-31 is a paper goods company with a heavy focus on crafting journals, books, and other paper products that give back to organizations working on social justice issues in Washington D.C. and beyond. The care and precision that goes into the workmanship of journal and book making is created with the aim to inspire customers with a sense of intentionality on the work they do and the products they buy.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Meet Noah Martin, the founder and creative director of FM-31. In addition to building the FM-31 platform, Noah is a designer and educator by trade and a resident designer with the Designing the Future(s) Initiative at Georgetown University.
