Navigating Uncertainty with Black Swans: Wild Cards & Weak Signals Analysis
Master Wild Cards & Weak Signals for Crisis Readiness and Resilience. Join us to learn how to anticipate and navigate future uncertainties.
In an increasingly volatile world, the ability to anticipate and prepare for crises is more crucial than ever. This masterclass provides tools to recognise early warning signs and potential disruptive events, helping you build robust strategies for crisis preparedness and adaptive resilience.
Exploring Wild Cards—extraordinary events with very low probability but immense potential to disrupt the status quo—and Weak Signals—subtle warnings that hint at future game-changing events—this session aligns with Karl Popper’s philosophy that our knowledge is provisional and must be tested against unexpected realities. Just as Popper argued for the falsifiability of scientific theories, anticipating Wild Cards or Black Swans challenges and refines our current understanding and predictive models.
This masterclass is ideal for anyone interested in foresight and future studies, aiming to build a proactive approach to navigating uncertainties and leveraging future opportunities. It offers hands-on experience with Wild Cards and Weak Signals Analysis, exploring AI’s exponential evolution and its market disruptions, and analysing the potential implications of a second term for Donald Trump.
Together, Dr. Popper and Dr. Kuosa bring unparalleled expertise to this session, having been instrumental in the pioneering project iKnow, the first fully-fledged European Commission funded Blue Sky forward-looking initiative, aimed at interconnecting knowledge on issues and developments potentially shaking or shaping the future of science, technology, and innovation (STI) in Europe and the world.
