Amelia Island Singers present: A Celebration of Life and Thanksgiving

Amelia Island Singers was founded by Toni Myers in 2022 and is already a thriving, tax-exempt choral organization of over 70 singers. Comfortable with a broad scope of musical offerings, Amelia Island Singers performs a wide variety of choral music. Myers believes that octavos are small masterpieces in and of themselves and Amelia Island Singers performs beloved octavos alongside great choral masterworks. Community choral singing is and always has been alive and well in Nassau County!

The music in this choral concert, featuring a group of 80+ choristers, will meditate on the themes of life. Central to the musical program is John Rutter's magnificent Requiem, scored for organ and chamber orchestra. Rutter describes his composition:“In style and scale, Requiem owes more to Fauré and Duruflé than to Berlioz, Verdi or Britten. It is intimate rather than grand, contemplative and lyric rather than dramatic, consolatory rather than grim, approachable rather than exclusive.”Rounding out this concert is music by Aaron Copland, Mary McDonald, Mack Wilberg, and more.Plan to purchase your tickets early, as Amelia Island Singers' concerts sell out quickly. Details about parking and when the church doors will open will be sent to ticket buyers a week before the concert. Your tickets will be delivered to you via Eventbrite.
