The <a href="https://www.virginislandsstudiescollective.org/our-team" title="https://www.virginislandsstudiescollective.org/our-team" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Virgin Islands Studies Collective</a>, or VISCO for short, is a group of academics, artists, and activists who are committed to centering the Virgin Islands as a site of inquiry and theorization beyond a notion of utopia or space that is not meaningfully occupied.The dECOlonial Feelin Symposium, hosted by Emory University and Clark Atlanta University, will take place in Atlanta, GA, U.S.A. from September 19-21, 2024. Thursday and Saturday's activities will take place at Clark Atlanta University; Friday's activities will take place at Emory University. Please note that street parking might also be available.Friday, September 20Workshops: Emory University, Woodruff Library, Jones Room (room 311 on the third floor)Artist talk: Carlos Museum Visitors are advised to park at either Fishburne Deck(Fishburne Lane, Atlanta, GA 30322; Fishburne is the closer parking lot, but tends to fill quickly) or Oxford Road Visitor's Deck (1390 Oxford Road, Atlanta, GA 30322; Oxford Road Visitor's Deck has parking for persons with disabilities). Fishburne Deck parking is free after 5 PM Monday through Friday and on weekends. Oxford Road Visitor’s Deck parking is free after 7 PM Monday through Friday and on weekends.
