Please send us an email at rsvp@fpf.org to receive your discount today! |CLE credits are available for this training | This course will review the Biden Administration’s October 2023 Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence (the “AI EO”), and provide updates and insights on implementation efforts across the government. The course will discuss emerging regulation and policy for the government’s acquisition and use of AI systems, and for protecting against new risks from AI development and AI-related security threats and threats to privacy and civil rights Learning Objectives:<ul><li>Learn the purposes and directives of the Biden Administration’s AI EO</li><li>Understand the government’s implementation of the AI EO’s mandates</li><li>Gain insights into emerging and upcoming AI policy and regulatory actions</li><li>Understand the AI EO’s approaches to protecting privacy, civil rights, and consumer protections in the age of AI</li></ul> This training will be a live virtual session. After completing each training course, you will receive a digital badge from Credly that can be shared on your professional network as a mark of the skills you’ve acquired. FPF Faculty:Eric Ransom, Partner, Crowell &amp; MoringEric’s unique insight on complex government acquisition matters, developed through his more than 15 years of experience in government, as in-house counsel, and at private bar. Direct experience with multiple views of the public procurement process adds value for Eric’s clients across contract and regulatory matters impacting their public sector businesses. Eric leverages his first-hand knowledge of the government contracting lifecycle, from both the government and industry points of view to provide business practical, expert-level advice at all stages of a procurement, and a company’s growth. Prior to joining Crowell &amp; Moring, Eric served as Director and Associate General Counsel for the public sector business unit of Scale AI, a Silicon Valley artificial intelligence and defense technology startup. As a former in-house counsel, Eric understands the value of practical, actionable advice, and specializes in assisting companies with entry to the public sector market, and navigating the challenges of operating in the complex government contracting regulatory environment. Michelle Coleman, Partner at Crowell &amp; MoringMichelle advises clients from diverse industries in connection with contract disputes and other government contract matters, including Contract Disputes Act (CDA) claims and requests for equitable adjustments, terminations, prime-sub disputes, other transaction authority, and AI. Michelle also has an active pro bono practice, representing clients as an attorney volunteer with the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless. Michelle has helped multiple clients receive long term housing through the Rapid Rehousing Program and other permanent voucher programs. Prior to working at Crowell &amp; Moring, Michelle served as an attorney in the Air Force’s Acquisition Law and Litigation Directorate, where she provided acquisition and litigation risk advice on procurements valued over $14 billion on major Air Force procurements.
