National Book Festival Presents Margaret Atwood and Nan Talese
National Book Festival Presents legendary fiction editor and publisher Nan Talese joined by one of her most successful novelists, Margaret Atwood, in a discussion about their work together. This is the kickoff of a new National Book Festival Presents feature, called Great American Editors, which explores the vital role of editors in the writing and publishing process. Moderated by Library of Congress Literary Director Marie Arana. Book sales and signing to follow.

Exclusive, after-hours invitation: Ticketholders may explore the Library by viewing a display featuring collection items related to the event and its presenters. Open from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Tickets are required for entry to this event. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry is not guaranteed. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of house management. Building doors open at 5:30 p.m. Auditorium doors open at 6 p.m.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The best way to arrive is by public transportation. The closest Metro stations are Capitol South (Blue/Orange/Silver lines—a two-block walk) or Union Station (Red Line—a half-mile walk). Limited metered and two-hour zoned parking is available in surrounding neighborhoods. Public parking garages are also available; the largest is at Union Station. What can/can't I bring into the event?
All visitors must pass through airport-like security to enter the Library. All personal items will be scanned, including jackets, purses, briefcases, etc. Please allow plenty of time to pass through security. Yes, tickets are required for entry to this event. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I update or cancel my registration information?
Yes. Attendees can log into Eventbrite to update registration information or cancel attendance. We strongly encourage attendees to cancel tickets they will not use so that patrons still interested in attending can register.

I can no longer register for a ticket; can I still attend?
Yes, if unfilled seats are available after ticketed guests have been seated. There will be a line for those not having tickets; however, there is no guarantee of a seat.

Can I get my book(s) signed?
Yes, with restrictions. To join the signing line and meet Margaret Atwood, attendees must purchase a copy of her latest book, “The Testaments,” when registering for a ticket or onsite at the event.
Additional books by Margaret Atwood will be available for purchase at the event. No memorabilia or books from home will be signed.
