When will this workshop happen?The workshop will take place in my virtual studio on Tuesdays 10-11am pacific time, starting on September 10th.Sept. 10thSept. 17thSept. 24thOct. 1stOct. 8thWho is this for?This workshop is for teens AND their parents! YES both teens AND their parents are welcome to attend this workshop series!However, it is okay if only one half of that equation can make it.What do we cover?We are going to work together to decrease the anxiety related to growing up.Teens feel so much pressure, and sometimes can seem almost paralyzed. Parents get worried and frustrated -unsure how to help their teen. Everyone is stressed out, feeling the weight of the next big steps, and have trouble communicating. This workshop helps to facilitate important conversations, identify the big barriers to accomplishing future goals, and provides exercises to help teens and their parents take the next steps.When you register for a Lift Off Workshop, you immediately get:<ul><li>Access to the workshop portal, the course material, and an online community.</li><li>An exercise before we even begin to get the ball rolling!</li></ul>5 one-hour workshops, that include:<ul><li>The workshop content, which has a different focus designed to help teens and their parents decrease anxiety and take next steps together,</li><li>A hands-on activity that will bring awareness and action steps</li><li>10-20 "conversation starters" based on that week's topic, for parents to ask teens and teens to ask their parents.</li><li>Homework if you'd like to dive even deeper that week.</li></ul> What does it cost?The cost is $395 for ALL five weeks (only $79/week!) and the ticket admits 1 parent and 1 teen. Melissa Y.</h4> Who is running this workshop?Roya Dedeaux (that’s me!) brings a unique perspective and infectious enthusiasm to challenges and joys of parenting. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I’ve spent over two decades supporting families who don’t quite fit the mold. After an unconventional homeschooled upbringing, I went on to get degrees in both Recreation and Leisure Studies and Counseling. This combined with ten years of being a university professor allows me to create a warm, engaging space where parents can build a better connection to their teens through creative techniques that improve your confidence and communication. The launch to adulthood is complex, powerful, poignant, and can bring out the best and worst of teens and their parents. My approach is all about building on your relationships to strengthen your connection, staying curious instead of struggling, and enjoying each other while you take steps to the future you want to design. We will build self-esteem, decrease anxiety, and navigate the launch to adulthood together!
