KPBS Producers Club Visit to Tijuana EstuaryJoin us for a fun and educational trip to the Tijuana Estuary with the KPBS Producers Club, Parks California and California State Parks! Get ready to explore the beauty of this unique coastal wetland and learn about the diverse wildlife that call it home.Date: Sat., Sept. 7, 2024Time: 9:00 AMLocation: 301 Caspian Wy, Imperial Beach, CA 91932Come prepared for a day of adventure and discovery as we embark on this exciting journey together. This event will begin with light refrehsments, followed by short remarks from KPBS and Parks California leadership. ABOUT THE TIJUANA RIVER ESTUARY RESERVEThe Tijuana Estuary is the largest coastal wetland in Southern California and it is located on the international border between the U.S. and Mexico. It is one of the few salt marshes remaining in Southern California, where over 90% of wetland habitat has been lost to development. The site is an essential breeding, feeding and nesting ground and key stopover point on the Pacific Flyway for over 370 species of migratory and native birds, including six endangered species. The Reserve offers four miles of walking trails, taking visitors into prime bird watching areas and down to the river mouth where the Tijuana River meets the Pacific Ocean. In order to ensure the experience is safe for all, we are asking all guests, volunteers and staff to observe our health protocols and recommendations:<ul><li>Before arriving at this event please assess your health. If you observe any runny nose, cough, tickle/sore throat, fever, body aches or any other unusual symptoms, please stay home.</li></ul><ul><li>Although masking is not required, you are welcome to wear a facial covering at your discretion, including times when you cannot maintain a comfortable social distance or when indoors. If you would like a facial covering, one will be made available at our check-in table. </li></ul><ul><li>KPBS staff will routinely clean and disinfect the check-in area and other hi-touch surface areas. Hand sanitizer will be available for all to use at the check-in table.</li></ul><ul><li>If you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days following the event, please notify our team as soon as possible.</li></ul>These protocols are in compliance with San Diego County and SDSU guidelines. We appreciate your cooperation.
