As we work to heal, uplift and reenergize Black members of the community we have again and again turned to discuss one of the greatest sources of renewal, joy and connection with all that exists - nature.This year's Weekend on the Water, which will be held on September 14 and 15, was created in response to the great value we see in building opportunities for Black people and other people of color to engage and explore together in the outdoors. Activities include camping at AMC Echo Lake Camp, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, hiking, fishing and swimming.We know the historical lack of access to beaches and public pools in this country can't be rectified in a weekend. However, we can give an introductory experience and additional long term opportunities in order to reclaim the connection to water that is part of our heritage.​Whether for the weekend or just a day, we hope you'll join us!
