Women Writing for (a) Change Jacksonvilleis a growing community for Jacksonville writers. We focus primarily on women, but not exclusively. We strive to reach a diverse audience and to make our programs accessible to all, including all cultural groups, genders, and communities.

Join us for a Tea Party and &quot;Boquet de Arts&quot; program!Please join us for a VIP viewing of the Blooms Art Show, which showcases six local women artists, writers, and floral designers, plus an entire Community Garden of local women artists sharing their work.Get a close-up look at our &quot;Bouquets de Art,&quot; six floral installations paired with six works of art from the show designed by six local female florists. They will be stunning—and temporary, so come out to see them before they&#x27;re gone!Tea will be served along with delicious gourmet cakes and sweets. Silent auction smaller versions of the six flower arrangements.We will have an opportunity to hear from three participants in the show: artist Jamie Lynn Galley, poet Dakota Minnie Boyer, and floral designer Ruth Thompson.Ruth, who is also a local beekeeper, honey purveyor, and ceramicist, first came up with the idea that we put on this unique show, a popular program at museums in other parts of the country. (Here&#x27;s one: https://deyoung.famsf.org/best-way-experience-bouquets-art)Dakota Boyer will share her ekphrastic poetry inspired by Jamie&#x27;s art, as well as share her own poetic journey and the books of poetry she&#x27;s published.Jamie Galley, artist by night and branding expert by day, will share about her series of artworks inspired by women and words and flowers.Ruth Thompson will discuss the art of flower arranging, the concepts behind it, and the complexities of making art with living things.This interactive event will include writing and conversation and Q&amp;A with these featured artists. Journals featuring work from the show will be for sale, along with all the other art in the show.Be sure to wear your best floral fashion! A prize will be given to the most blossoming attendee.Please join us for this special window into the world of three women who are blooming in a spirit of beauty, art, and poetry.We look forward to seeing you!
