This session will prepare attendees to engage in collective governance and stewardship as community investors.

In this session, attendees will learn about and engage in various models of cooperative and community governance. You’ll explore the <a href="https://www.theguild.community/community-stewardship-trust/" title="https://www.theguild.community/community-stewardship-trust/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Community Stewardship Trust’s </a>(CST) governance model and practices and learn about about challenges and solutions for collectively stewarding real estate properties.Dinner will be provided at 5:30, session begins promptly at 6:00 pm. <h3>LEARNING GOALS:</h3><ul><li>Describe the purpose of governance and link this purpose to the goals of the CST</li><li>Consider and describe various governance models, including cooperative or community governance</li><li>Describe the governance model of the CST and understand how the CST embodies cooperative or community governance</li><li>Name and consider factors that may make cooperative governance challenging, as well as strategies for overcoming them</li></ul>FACILITATORS: Kiyomi Rollins – Founder, Kenekt Cooperative Julian Hill – Asst.
