We know there is a significant gender bias in VC funding. "In 2019, venture capital investment in all-female founding teams reached a record $3.3 billion, representing 2.8% of capital invested across the entire U.S. startup ecosystem" (Pitchbook). For women of color, the result is even more drastic. Only 1% of all VC funding has been allocated since 2009, according to incubator and research center DigitalUndivided.
There are a number of factors preventing women from securing technical support and investment dollars – from gender bias to lack of mentorship and networks. The rise of female focused VC funds and ecosystem builders combined with the increase in the number of female VC partners and impact investing opportunities is creating a movement around closing the gender funding gap.  Join us for a panel discussion where we'll outline best practices for women entrepreneurs and funding opportunities for women-led social impact businesses.
