In a prestigious collaboration, the University of Minnesota, in partnership with Edina's 9 Mile Fine Art Gallery, the arts advocacy group Art is My Weapon, and the Lundstrom School for the Performing Arts is proud to present a remarkable pop-up installation featuring the works of the trailblazing photographer Adger Cowans in Minneapolis. Breaking barriers as the first African American photographer granted access to the inner workings of both major motion pictures and high-profile stadium concerts, Adger Cowans is celebrated for his exceptional ability to immortalize the private moments of luminaries, ensembles, and visionaries. ﻿ ﻿For the first time, alongside his celebrated photographs, Cowans’ oil and acrylic paintings will be unveiled, adding a new dimension to his renowned body of work.
