To learn more about The Dendo Lab and to see our full schedule, visit:<a href="http://dendrolab.love" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> http://dendrolab.nyc</a>Rather than focusing on a particular genus or family of trees, on this walk we will dedicate our time to trees with compound leaves, or leaves that consist of multiple leaf blades called leaflets. Given that this is a relatively large group of trees, they have been divided into two separate walks. Part I is dedicated to the legumes, including those non-legume species that are frequently confused due to their higher number of leaflet pairs. While Part II is dedicated to compound leaves with fewer leaflets pairs like hickory, ash, and palmately compound leaves like buckeye.Please note: Meeting spot is across the street from the American Museum of Natural History at the bronze bust of Alexander Von Humboldt at CPW and West 77th Street. This entrance to the park is aptly called &quot;Naturalists&#x27; Gate.&quot;About your guide: Carey is a professional photographer and filmmaker whose first love is natural history.
