IEEE's web development workshop is open to all majors. Every participant will leave with their own website!

Arts and Letters 101,  San Diego State University

The technical workshop will go over the modern web technologies used in web development, how they relate/work together, and how someone could get started on becoming a web developer. The last half of the workshop will be hands on. Students will code their own website using those same tools. For this event, we are inviting, Dwight Diesmo, a mentor/senior partner from diesmo5 to lead the workshop. diesmo5 is a software development company that provides digital products and services to businesses and startups. <a href="https://diesmo5.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://diesmo5.com</a>"Most students hear web development and think Wordpress, Shopify, or Wix and this simply does not do web development justice nor does it give an accurate representation of web development in 2020. Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, Airbnb are few companies that build web applications providing software as a service. Obviously, you cannot build these types of applications on wordpress. That's where web developers come in. This workshop is intended to give students pathways available to them to pave a career path as a front-end, back-end, or full-stack developer.
