Heather Houston is a Santa Cruz-based song leader, choral director, recording artist, and vocal empowerment coach with over 30 years of experience in uplifting hearts and building community through the power of song. Founder of the Yala Lati Women’s Choir and creator of the Sisters in Harmony Retreats, Heather leads transformative singing experiences both in person and online, including at venues like Esalen, Sivananda Bahamas, and 1440 Multiversity. Her music, rooted in themes of healing, unity, and connection with nature, is sung by communities worldwide and can be found in her online song library and on all major streaming platforms.

She loves creating events that combine some of her favorite things— play, movement, singing, spiritual practices, and community. From Sound Blessings to Silent Dance Parties, these events are gently facilitated to nurture a greater sense of well-being, belonging, and awe.Elizabeth Mullin took piano lessons for a couple of years and loved to sing and listen along to her parents’ music; Captain and Tennille, the Carpenters, and Henry Mancini. It was getting her first turntable and 2 albums that set her musical style; Earth, Wind, and Fire “I Am” and Cheap Trick’s “Live at Budokan.” &nbsp; She joined rock bands in her teens and twenties and played drums, percussion, acoustic guitar, and piano. She has a degree in Radio Broadcasting and was the booking agent for a downtown San Jose venue which exposed her to a more diverse musical genre appreciation. Fast forward to 2023, she joined a couple of song circles in San Jose and Santa Cruz, CA. She loves the connection with others and is currently writing songs to share stories through melodies. She quotes, “Singing in song circles helps convey my musical style and I enjoy the intimate gatherings.&nbsp;Let’s journey together through music.”Erica Crystal Jade brings amusement and light to her song circles. She likes to explore the subtle healing aspects of singing by welcoming her vulnerabilities and pain as a military veteran to her work as a song leader. Erica is an aspiring spiritual retreat facilitator where she endeavors to host sacred space retreats centered around singing, cooking, and playing.Kimberly Mangino is passionate about the power of singing as meditation and medicine. She has personally experienced finding her voice, authentic self-expression, and confidence in her leadership through singing and teaching, and she feels called to help others on the path of awakening by sharing these tools. Kimberly has been offering Kirtan for several years, for the pleasure of singing with others and for its many benefits as a spiritual practice. She has previously sung with a spiritual concert choir, and has taken spiritual singing workshops from several artists, including kirtan musician Akari Tamura, Maa Tejomayee Devi, and Kevin James, and is a graduate of Heather Houston's song leader training course. She draws on her background as a yogi and healer to create a safe, supportive environment for singers at any experience level, allowing anyone to experience the joyful, uplifted heart and the powerful spiritual healing that arises from singing in community.Meghan WhiteBreathing. Swimming. Singing. From the ebb and flow of breath mimicking the tides to the slow unfurling of a blossom in the form of a song swirling and twirling through the air and reverberating into the collective. I am singing my awareness back into my body in the eternal present where I hope to meet you. The California coast around San Diego is my home, where I am practicing swim instruction and training in aquatic therapy, WATSU®️—when not singing of course.Milla Tutman was born in Ukraine. Went to music school and trained in classical piano as a child. Once I got married, I was blessed to be part of a musical family. My husband plays guitar and sings and has a very pleasant voice. Both of our young adult kids are enjoying creating music with each other and our daughter is now a part of the music band with her boyfriend as a vocalist and a song composer. She does both lyrics and melody. I am very inspired to continue healing myself through music and singing and also inspired to help others to be on the same healing journey. My favorite songs to sing and to teach others involve drum beats and rhythmic healing rhythms. I am inspired to bring elements from Shamanic traditions into my singing circles.Natana Spohler first experienced the joy of singing as a youth in the church choir. More recently, she was a vocalist in a chanting band, The Crazy Karma Band, which gave kirtans to the public once a month. She is currently part of a local singing sangha group led by Maniko Dru Dadigan which includes an annual solstice retreat where songs are created as touchstones for the insights gained there. She has written, performed, and recorded some of these songs. Natana currently leads two online “Wake up with a Song in Your Heart” groups and holds an in-person singing circle once a month. Her circles include simple healing songs that welcome all aspects of ourselves. With her background in dance, she also enjoys bringing in movement so that the experience of singing together leaves everyone feeling loved and uplifted. I am a 68-year-old wife, mother, semi-retired physician, paraplegic (a spinal cord injury 50 years ago), living in Clayoquot Sound, in the territory of the Tla o qui aht First nation, on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. I first discovered the joy of communal singing in the 5th-grade choir. I have sung in community choirs and a quartet on and off for the past 20 years and now I am venturing into leading song circles. I desire to create and be part of something bigger than a single voice, to shift hearts and minds toward a larger-than-us feeling, and to revel in the sound of voices together in harmony.Sandra Glauz is an accomplished singer/songwriter who lives in West Seattle, Washington. Sandra loves to sing with others to create beautiful and moving melodies and harmonies in her community song circles, workshops, and retreats. She plays the Ukulele, Guitar, and Shruti box to accompany herself and her groups. She has taught music to preschoolers, school-age children, and adults. She offers private and semi-private voice/singing lessons. When she's not singing in her community song circles, you can see her at various Jazz clubs in and around Seattle. In her long and varied career, Sandra has sung in shows such as "Hello, Hollywood, Hello" at the MGM Grand, as a background singer for the Jimmy Stewart movie, "Mr. Krueger's Christmas" recorded at the Osmond Studios, and written harmony parts for recording artists in the Seattle area. She's enjoying teaching and singing in her community.Sofia Dugas (SO.FI) is a singer-songwriter and community song leader. With an acting and vocalist background, Sofia continues to play with sound in novel and explorative ways, inviting others to do the same. She facilitates this work by hosting improvisation workshops and longer retreats in Colombia.
