How does the pin work?

A pin is achieved if you can pin the opponent's shoulder to the mat for a silent 3sec count however you cannot score a pin if: you are in someone's full guard (Bottom scissors), caught in a submission hold like an armbar or front choke, or otherwise do not have full control of your opponent.

Can I take my opponent down and then let them up?  (Called "cutting" in wrestling)

No. Taking down an opponent and letting them up is avoiding working to pin or submit your opponent.

How  does Stalling differ from Passivity?

Stalling is trying to slow  or  negate  action from happening. Passivity is when a wrestler is refusing to  engage,  fleeing  from the  engagement,  or refusing  to engage with the opponent in some way.

Question 6

What are the starting positions?

Accepted Answer

All matches start standing which is called Neutral. On the ground the starting position is with one wrestler on hands and knees, the other behind  with one knee down and the other up, hand on elbow and other on waist - this is called Referee's  Position with one wrestler top  and the other  bottom.
