Writing Marathon--WPWP Celebrates 40

The Western Pennsylvania Writing Project (WPWP) is a powerful source of meaningful professional learning in the greater Pittsburgh region. As a site of the National Writing Project, a network of 185 university-school partnerships focused on improving literacies across disciplines and levels, we work to contribute to national conversations on literacy, writing, teaching, and learning. Since 1984, WPWP has served teachers and students in over 50 school districts and has partnered with over 150 local schools and community organizations.

Join us for a adventurous Writing Marathon as we celebrate 40 years of WPWP!

Pittsburgh

Writing marathons began in the early 1990s with the Southeastern Louisiana Writing
Project and have been adapted for use in National Writing Project Institutes, classrooms,
literary festivals, and writing groups throughout the country.
During a marathon, small groups or individuals travel through different landscapes,
writing and composing along the way in any genre they like, drawing inspiration from
their surroundings and also from their fellow writers.The below prompts are suggestions to guide your writing process.
