In April 2020 there will be a change to consider regarding the way individuals provide their services through their own limited company to private sector end-users. This is commonly referred to as IR35.This session will draw on practical examples, looking at the changes and what you need to do within your organisations to ensure compliance and minimise risk.Baldwins representatives will talk through the changes to IR35 and the strategic tax risks involved around it. They will also provide guidance on what your organisation needs to consider in order to be compliant. Napthens will then talk about employment status within the workplace. This will include companies who provide services through intermediaries and are caught by the IR35 changes, but also other off-payroll working arrangements and how the changes to IR35 will impact on these. Speakers;David Hedges, Employment Tax Partner, BaldwinsDave has 30 years’ experience in employment taxes, having trained at HMRC before working in large accountancy practices. He leads the firm’s national employment tax practice, working collaboratively with companies, directors, and owner-managers. Dave works with employers of all sizes to help them structure tax-efficient remuneration packages for staff members and self-employed consultants. Louise Highton, Office Managing Partner &amp; Tax Partner, BaldwinsLouise is a qualified accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor specialising in all personal and employment taxes. Louise has over 20 years’ experience working with owner-managed businesses and individuals to minimise their tax exposure across the board.  Louise has successfully dealt with a number of HMRC enquiries in relation to employment status and IR35 and brings her knowledge and experience to the Baldwins group since joining in May 2019 as part of the Preston office acquisition.Chris Boyle, Partner, Head of Employment &amp; HR, NapthensChris is head of Napthens' employment &amp; HR team and acts for businesses ranging from plcs to small owner-managed businesses dealing with general HR advice and Employment Tribunal claims including unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE and breach of contract. He also deals with commercial agents’ disputes and High Court breach of contract claims.  Chris also acts for employees and senior executives in Employment Tribunals and the High Court and negotiates severance packages when necessary.
