Join us for the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Jubilee, hosted by The Honorable Nicole Cole, SCPS School Board Member (Battlefield District), in support of the nonprofit Pathways to Success Foundation (501c3)!As we commemorate Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States, we invite you to join us in honoring its significance and celebrating our journey towards freedom and equality.Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, marks the day when enslaved people in Texas finally received news of their freedom on June 19, 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It's a day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration of African American history and culture.The Juneteenth Jubilee is more than just a celebration; it's a gathering of community advocates dedicated to the mission of PTSF, which is to support higher education pursuits and strengthen education advocacy in our communities.Join us on this special day for featured comedy performances, live music, delicious food, and scholarship awards. Rick Younger is an actor, comedian, and singer who you've undoubtedly seen in numerous national television commercials. Film credits include Ordinary World and Morning Glory. He’s appeared on TV in the Woody Allen Amazon Series, "Crisis in Six Scenes", HBO's "Girls", "Blue Bloods", "Law & Order: SVU", “The Last O.G.”, and “The Other Two” on HBOMAX.  Rick has also been on Broadway where he originated the role of Mr. Duvall in Mean Girls the Musical.

Headliner Comedian

Leslie Rob is an Award-Winning International Standup Comedian, Teacher, Speaker & PD Presenter. She brings comedy, encouragement & professional development sessions to stages, conferences & social media worldwide. Her videos have brought laughter to millions across her social media platforms, which prompted an article about her in The Washington Post. Leslie Rob travels all over the country and abroad. She’s been seen on the Bored Teachers Comedy Tour, Teachers Do Standup Tour, The Unknown Tour, Spirit FM’s Night of Love & Laughter, ABC’s The Tamron Hall Show, Dry Bar Comedy, as well as solo performances. Her most recent accomplishment was the opportunity to interview Melissa Joan Hart at an event for the LA Cancer Support Program.

Gary Flowers has been on the front lines of civil/human rights policy formation in the United States and around the world for over 35 years, serving as special assistant to Virginia Governor L. Douglas Wilder; special assistant at The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in Washington, DC; vice president/field director for Reverend Jesse Jackson's Rainbow PUSH Coalition in Chicago, IL; Teaching Fellow at Harvard's institute of Politics; and CEO of The Black Leadership Forum, Inc. In Washington, DC.

Currently, Gary is the owner of Walking the Ward with Gary Flowers in Richmond, Virginia (WalkingtheWard.com), and host of The Gary Flowers Show (WOLDCNEWS.COM)
