The Chinese Historical Society of America Museum is the oldest organization in the country dedicated to the interpretation, promotion, and preservation of the social, cultural and political history and contributions of the Chinese in America.CHSA promotes the contributions and legacy of the Chinese in America through its exhibitions, publications, and educational and public programs in the Museum and Learning Center. We are housed in the landmark Julia Morgan-designed Chinatown YWCA building at 965 Clay Street, San Francisco.

Dear Supporter, 
 
The board of directors of CHSA, in consultation with government advisories and community supporters, has made the difficult decision to postpone its 2020 Gala in order to minimize any spread of COVID-19 in and amongst our community, friends, and supporters. This decision is not made lightly given the significant efforts that have already been made to put on this wonderful event to showcase CHSA’s role in the community. But the well-being of San Francisco and its residents is our priority, as it should be everyone who calls this city home.

The show will go on, but maybe a little delayed. We are currently in discussions with our partners about finding a new date for our 2020 Gala, so please be on the look-out for a refreshed date for your calendar. For those who have pledged, sent in your donations or purchased ticket(s), these can be applied to a future date or refunded. In the meantime, be safe and look out for the vulnerable members of your community who may need medical attention.  Thank you again for your support of CHSA, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
