A counter-mapping workshop focused on hidden histories to mark the launch of Shenuka Corea's zine for Lunuganga

Animator, illustrator, comic artist, and storyteller, <a href="https://www.shenukacorea.com/" title="https://www.shenukacorea.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Shenuka Corea</a> will lead a counter-mapping workshop focused on hidden histories to mark the launch of her corresponding zine. This activity seeks to frame the garden from new perspectives of hidden histories and consider mapping as a practice of documentation to uncover what lies beneath the view of the naked eye or beyond a first glance.Participants will work together to create a collaborative counter-map of the garden based on their observations and documentation. Photography, writing, drawing, or any other medium of choice may be used. No prior skills or experience are necessary, and practitioners across disciplines—including, but not limited to architects, designers, artists, researchers, writers—are encouraged to join. The zine and workshop is part of <a href="https://lunuganga.garden/The-Order-of-Nature" title="https://lunuganga.garden/The-Order-of-Nature" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Order of Nature</a>, a curatorial project exploring the intersection of queerness, architecture, and landscape design within Lunuganga.LKR 3,000 (Transport to Bentota &amp; back to Colombo, lunch, and tea) (payment can be made via bank transfer or cash payment at Number 11, Colombo 03) Materials participants will need to bring:<ul><li>Sketchbook or notebook that you don’t mind tearing paper out of</li><li>Scissors</li><li>Glue</li><li>Drawing implements of preference (pencils, pens, markers, colour pencils etc)</li><li>Phone or camera with cable (to connect to a laptop to print your photos)</li></ul>
