Bach Around the Clock 2020! 

Founded in 1996, the Staunton, VA-based Heifetz International Music Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the artistic growth and career development of some of the most talented and promising young musicians in the world. The mission of the Institute is to develop the expressive potential of every performer, through the innovative and cross-disciplinary Heifetz Performance & Communication Training. This method guides young musicians into becoming well-rounded, communicative artists by improving their technical agility and musicianship, self confidence, gestural and verbal communication skills, and leadership capacity both on and off stage. The Institute’s teaching philosophy is that artists express their individuality not only through technically and intellectually robust music making, but also through emotional and even physical engagement with the music they play.

On Saturday, March 21, 2020, (J.S. Bach's 335th Brithday!) the Shenandoah Valley will be celebrating Bach's birthday from 9 am to 9 pm in the magnificent acoustics of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Staunton, VA,

From sunup to sundown, you'll hear superb string soloists, renowned organists, guitarists, pianists, choirs, and brilliant ensembles, consisting of both passionate amateurs and polished professionals, performing the inspiring and moving works of Bach, whose "perfectly proportioned structures stir primal feelings that transcend time, place, and creed, to express the inexpressible." Or, as one philosopher says, “music sets in order what life cannot.”
