The Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center (LMCC) is an African American history museum located in the Lincolnville neighborhood of Saint Augustine, FL. Our mission is to preserve, promote and perpetuate over 450 years of the African American story through the arts, educational programs, lectures, live performances and exhibits.

A Look Back: 60th Commemoration of Civil Rights

2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement in St. Augustine, which directly impacted the signing of the US Civil Rights Act of 1964. The LMCC presents programs to commemorate, including tours, lectures and an annual Heritage Luncheon.

Visit the LMCC on Tuesday, June 11th at 1:30 PM for the opening ceremony of our new and improved Civil Rights Exhibit. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the local movement and signing of the Civil Rights Act, the LMCC is updating their exhibit to enhance the current artifacts and events of the movement. It will also feature an interactive display with interviews of national and local Civil Rights activists who worked together in St. Augustine to fight against segregation and racial discrimination with national impact. Admission is free with registration via Eventbrite. This event is hosted by the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center (LMCC) in conjunction with St. Johns County Cultural Council, St. Johns County Tourism Development Council and the Florida Division of Arts and Culture.
