Trauma Awareness Training-STL

Alive & Well Communities

This program is free of charge and open to the public. Everyone is welcome to participate. This presentation will explore:
<UL CLASS="ul1">
<LI CLASS="li1">the prevalence and impact of trauma on children’s brain development;</LI>
<LI CLASS="li1">the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES) which first introduced us to the long-term impact that trauma can have on social, emotional and health outcomes;</LI>
<LI CLASS="li1">what we must do to help children and families recover from trauma;</LI>
<LI CLASS="li1">and what is behind many of the behaviors we see and how we can shift our perspective to serve children and families through the lens of trauma.</LI>
</UL>
The presentation sets the groundwork for future in-depth training opportunities. This program meets one of the training requirements for becoming an Alive and Well Ambassador.
