Deep Ellum History Walking Tour | Historic Dallas Experience

Explore the history and culture of Deep Ellum on this laid-back walking tour you won’t forget. Presented by the Deep Ellum Foundation.

A fresh walking tour shared from the perspective of a local resident and history buff, Austin Young.

Guests are guided through Elm, Main, Crowdus Streets and beyond, exploring the deep history of Deep Ellum alongside some of its more recent and colorful chapters. Along the way, the tour weaves together the neighborhood’s rich history with the music and art that have long defined the district’s identity.

An award-winning local music host, Young blends historical insight with stories from the scene, offering attendees a look at the arc of the neighborhood’s past while highlighting the artists, venues, murals, and moments that helped shape Deep Ellum into one of Dallas’ most influential cultural districts.

Guests will also receive suggestions for local lunch spots and must-visit stops throughout the neighborhood so they can continue exploring Deep Ellum after the tour.

The tour is free to attend and begins at 3:00 PM each Saturday at the Deep Ellum Community Center.

Deep Ellum has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2023.
