You're invited to The Salon, a gathering styled after the salons of the Harlem Renaissance celebrating BIPOC womxn wordsmiths and lyricists in Central Texas at the historic <a href="https://antonesnightclub.com/" title="https://antonesnightclub.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Antone's Nightclub</a> in Austin, TX.Poets and songwriters are welcome to sign up for the open mic. We publish contemporary writing by emerging and experienced writers alike. Torch has featured work by Colleen J. McElroy, Tayari Jones, Sharon Bridgforth, Crystal Wilkinson, Patricia Smith, Natasha Trethewey, Elizabeth Alexander, and others. Programs include the Wildfire Reading Series, writing workshops, retreats, and special events.

An open mic featuring Central Texas poets and songwriters. Sign up in person by 7:30 p.m. to be on the list. BIPOC womxn are encouraged to perform.

A curated listening experience celebrating Black women writers of the Black Arts Movement. Enjoy deep cuts of spoken word and music by legends such as Jayne Cortez, Maya Angelou, and Sonia Sanchez.
