We are proud to bring EarthKry to the Dogtown stage. They have toured extensively performing at some of the biggest international reggae events. This phenomenal band was born and nurtured within the halls of the Edna Manley College of The Visual &amp; Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica where the four budding musicians honed their skills. The band has released a successful debut EP Hard Road, an acclaimed worldwide top charting debut album Survival and their newest Dandy Shandy through the guidance of veteran drummer / lecturer Derrick Stewart, veteran trumpeter Nambo Robinson, guitarist / former tutor Maurice Gordon and producers Stephen Stewart and Sam Clayton. EarthKry are on a mission to voice the grievances of the downtrodden through the vibrations of their legacy music. Since 2013 the band has spent much of their time creating with other notable artists in recording sessions while further developing their signature sound. We have paired them with our 2024 featured local artist Father Sun. This talented band embodies the true spirit of reggae with a blend of experienced artistry and youthful energy. Janiah Allen is a seasoned musician known for his collaborations with ALLiENS, Music Road Co, Solazo, Sol Roots, The Ambassador and more. Alongside Janiah is his son Nyo Allen whose exceptional drumming skills bring life to Father Sun's beats. Janiah &amp; Nyo’s original compositions are rooted in reggae traditions and infused with modern creativity. They are joined by Jamiel Allen (keys) and Zeph Allen (guitar), also original founding members of ALLiENS, whose melodic prowess adds depth and dimension to their music. Their performances are not mere musical exhibitions; they are heartfelt celebrations of life and the universal language of music. Join Father Sun on their musical odyssey where the essence of reggae is embraced and shared, connecting souls and spreading positivity wherever their music is heard.Kicking things off will be Sky High Reggae and ArkLight Sound System member DJ Ruby Star. Selectress Ruby Star has been carefully curating and spinning high-grade Roots Reggae &amp; Dub music for over twenty years. She is also co owner of Sky High Reggae - a US based promotion / production company.
