Donna Zubrod is an educator, massage therapist, and birth doula who is passionate about teaching and treating reproductive health. For over a decade she has creatively blended her experience in Abdominal Therapy and Holistic Reproductive Health in workshops that empower clients and students to embrace body literacy and self-care practices that nurture and heal body, mind, emotions, and spirit. For the past 12 years, she has worked with over 1000 pregnant people/couples in her private practiceSeven Generation Reproductive Wellnesslocated in Apex, NC. Pregnancy discomfort is common, but not “normal.” Come learn why that is & what you can do about it, which may help with a gentler birth.

Haven Women's Health and Birth Center

This 4.5 hour hands-on workshop is not your typical childbirth education class. Rather it focuses on your pregnant body and things you can do to help facilitate a physiological birth. This workshop is intended to support you throughout your journey from the earliest moments of pregnancy through to the fourth trimester. We will focus on optimal body balance to help keep you more comfortable during pregnancy and support your baby’s position to help facilitate a gentler birth experience. It’s beneficial to participate in this workshop when you are around 20 weeks pregnant, this way you’ll have ample time to apply what you learn, and you can experience the benefits as you journey towards your birthing day and postpartum. It is recommended that you attend with your birth support partner.You’ll learn:• The basics of pregnancy anatomy; the changes your body experiences and why this can cause discomfort and sometimes pain• How to recognize when your pregnant body is telling you that it is out of balance and what you can do about it to help bring your body towards a state of balance• How to perform a home care abdominal massage technique to support the anatomical changes brought on by pregnancy• How to care for your body in the early postpartum periodBy the time we finish, you will have practiced a variety of body balance techniques and also have experienced Your Abdominal Massage for Pregnancy – an easy yet powerful self-care treatment developed by <a href="https://rositaarvigo.com/" title="https://rositaarvigo.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Dr Rosita Arvigo</a> that you can do at home to nourish yourself physically, emotionally, and spiritually throughout your pregnancy.It is recommended that your birth support partner attend with you. Only 1 ticket needs to be purchased for the two of you.

What happens nextOnce you sign up by purchasing your ticket, Donna will send you a welcome email with instructions to complete workshop registration along with a personal consultation form called Your Pregnancy Health Story. You may complete as much or as little of this form, depending on your comfort level. Knowing some of Your Pregnancy Health Story allows Donna to tailor the class towards your needs and it helps you as you keep track of your progress.What to wear and what you need• It’s important that you feel comfortable. Wear what feels good for you and that will allow you to easily practice Your Abdominal Massage for Pregnancy over your clothes. Leggings and baggy T-shirt are ideal. A yoga mat/soft surface for you to recline on and three to four pillows would be useful for Your Abdominal Massage for Pregnancy practice.• Bring a notepad and pen if you like to take notes, but if you prefer to curl up and listen that’s a great way to enjoy the workshop too!• Light healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided for your nourishment and hydration. You may wish to bring a water bottle with you.Class Fee, Refund, &amp; Cancellation Policy:The class fee is $150 (plus $10.88 NC sales tax) per pregnant person and their birth support partner, payable through Eventbrite.If Donna cancels the class, all monies will be refunded – or applied to a future class if agreed to by Donna and you.If you cancel attendance due to illness, monies can be refunded (less Eventbrite admin fees) or applied to a future similar class offered by Donna.If you cancel for any other reason within a week before the class date, monies will not be refunded but there may be an option for applying monies to a similar future class with Donna.The Basics Series workshopsThis workshop is one of the Abdominal Therapy Collective’s Basics Series.
