5 days of daily trail work planned on the Corporation Buck Tie Trail to completely renovate the access, tread, and connections.

Umatilla Forks Campground

The Blues Crew hosts a young adult team from the Northwest Youth Corps for daily work parties Monday - Friday April 15 - 19, 2024. Blues Crew volunteers can camp overnight, or meet up with the campers at 8 AM to start our day together. We're going to completely renovate the Corporation Buck Tie Trail #3076 which is adjacent to the Umatilla Forks Campground east of Mission above the Umatilla River. It is in the Umatilla National Forest and adjacent to the North Fork Umatilla River Wilderness. This short segment connects the Buck Creek #3073 and Nine Mile #3072 trails with the North Fork Umatilla River #3083 Trailhead. This work party is a 90 minute drive from Walla Walla. Volunteers should sign up for each day separately.Cell service is not available in the North Fork Umatilla River Canyon.Volunteers commuting to the work site from Walla Walla can meet at the USFS Walla Walla Ranger District office at 1415 West Rose Street at 06:30 AM to carpool or caravan.
