Welcome to the Friends of TROY School Luncheon!Join us for lunch and an informative presentation by Tiffany Creager, MSW, LSW) of INcompassing Education on Unraveling the Threads: Understanding Childhood Trauma's Impact on the Nervous System and the Imperative for Mental Health Support in Education.Tiffany will lead us through a thought-provoking and insightful 1-hour session delving into the intricate connection between childhood trauma, the nervous system, and academic success. She will discuss the visible and invisible manifestations of trauma in the classroom and explore the far-reaching consequences on academic performance, behavior, and social interactions. Backed by neuroscience and framed through real-world examples, we will discover the indispensable role mental health support plays in ensuring the success of students facing adversity. By fostering a culture of understanding, empathy, and proactive mental health care, we can empower students to overcome the challenges posed by their past experiences and unlock their full potential!About our speaker:Tiffany is a licensed social worker, advanced mind body medicine practitioner and holds a certification in Applied Educational Neuroscience from Butler University. She has worked as an early childhood education director, a school social worker, a director of school-based services for a community mental health center, and has provided clinical therapeutic services to youth, adults, and families. Tiffany has partnered with over twenty schools and youth and family serving agencies to provide professional development, mind body medicine skills groups, and supportive services. Her focus on healing centered engagement supports staff, students, and families alike in understanding the impact of stress, trauma, and adversity while working to heal individually and collectively. This work is foundational to student and staff success and well-being.
