Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s mission is to harness the power of plants for humankind and share the joy and beauty of tropical gardening with everyone.Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (FTBG) is an 83-acre botanical and cultural institution established in 1936 and located in Coral Gables, Florida. Fairchild exists to promote the understanding, conservation, use, and enjoyment of tropical plants.

Ever wonder how plants deal with global warming? Plants, just like us, are affected by global warming. Plants have been able to use different characteristics and mechanisms to regulate their leaf temperature. During this workshop, we will help scientists from the University of Miami conduct a series of experiments to understand how size, shape, and color affect leaf temperature.
