This class was created under the idea that massage therapists are better able to work with underlying trauma (emotional or physical) when they understand the trauma they have experienced. This is a trauma-based class geared toward the self-care of the therapist. The focus of this class will be on the connection between the physical body and the emotional response to events that affect themselves as well as events that affect their clients. We will use the modalities the therapists are familiar with to create an intentional treatment plan for clients. A review of the nervous system, specifically the parasympathetic nervous system, will be covered by the instructor.
