About this event

Mental Health Action Day: Community Care and Connection (YOUTH)

Join Hope for the Day for an inspiring afternoon of community care and connection as we come together to celebrate Mental Health Action Day! This interactive event, hosted with Sip of Hope and the Logan Square Library, is designed to empower students with the knowledge, tools, and resources to support mental health and wellbeing in their communities.

Students will have the opportunity to rotate between three interactive activites during the time focusing on self-expression, resources, and empathy:

  1. Affirmation Station: Affirmations can be powerful tools in caring for ourselves and our mental health. They can help us challenge negative self-talk, build confidence, and foster resilience in tough times. Design your own buttons with messages of empowerment or affirmation to uplift spirits and spark conversations about mental health and self-care.
  2. Resource Compass Challenge: Hope for the Day’s Resource Compass is your guide to finding valuable resources and support services right in your own community! Through this scavenger hunt, you’ll not only learn how to navigate our Resource Compass effectively, but also discover the wealth of resources available in your area to support yourself and others in times of need.
  3. Sip and Snacks: Enjoy some after-school snacks and beverages while writing messages of encouragement and support at our coffee shop, Sip of Hope! Learn more about the essential role of community spaces in promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention, and discover how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Materials provided. Spots limited, and registration is required to reserve your space. This workshop may be captured via photo/video, with general privacy rules respected (no minors faces clearly visible).
